I was inspired to write about food after enjoying Nitasha's post about banana bread. It was a wonderful description of the perfect baked treat.
My daughter-in-law enjoys cooking with many of Hitz's recipes, and her table wardrobe of napkins, dishes, and glasses provide a visual feast as well. I enjoyed a chicken dish a few weeks ago and asked her for the recipe. Yesterday I made this with rice for dinner with some friends. They thought it was delicious and my husband plans to eat the leftovers.
Sometimes it's better not to know exactly what's in the recipe. I used 2 1/2 cups of cream. Not too terrible. My main worry was scorching and wrecking the cream sauce somehow. It worked out well. Gruyere cheese. But 10 tablespoons of butter? I haven't put that much butter into a dish in a long time. Even my favorite Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies only require...oh wait. I DO put 8 tablespoons in that cookie recipe.
Well, I 'll just think of dinner as a Tollhouse chicken recipe with a French twist. Just don't eat this every night.
Oh my goodness, cream & cheese & butter! This post made me think of my friend who makes a dip for apples I kept asking for and she would say, "You don't want this recipe!" It's one of those decadent once or twice a year traditions.Love how you went the Tollhouse cookie route in your thinking. Delightful post!
